Ron Lovan is President/CEO of the Northern Kentucky Water District and is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the District. He started his career with the Kentucky Water Pollution Control Commission in the ‘70s after earning both a Bachelor of Science and a Master’s of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Kentucky. He has previously worked with the National Clay Pipe Institute and was in the consulting engineering business in Lexington, Kentucky. He also spent 15 years as General Manager of a water/wastewater utility serving the City of Thornton, a large suburb of Denver, Colorado.
Ron is a registered Professional Engineer in the state of Kentucky and Colorado. He is a member of the National Society and the Kentucky Society of Professional Engineers, the American Society of Civil Engineers, the Water Environment Federation, American Water Works Association, Association of Metropolitan Water Agencies, and a Diplomate with the American Academy of Environmental Engineers. He has volunteered time with the YMCA and the National Ski Patrol and is a current member of the Chamber of Commerce and graduate of Northern Kentucky Leadership Class 2002.
