NKWD New Commissioner to Board
Northern Kentucky Native Represents Campbell County

Cold Spring, KY — The Northern Kentucky Water District welcomes a new addition to its six-member board of commissioners. Doug Wagner was appointed by the Campbell County Fiscal Court to replace Kathleen Almoslechner, who resigned from the board earlier this month.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Commissioner Wagner to the Board,” stated Joe Koester, NKWD Chairman of the Board. “We look forward to working with him to continue to provide the best possible water and service that NKWD customers have come to expect.”

Doug Wagner was born and raised in Northern Kentucky and has been a Newport resident for the past 23 years. He served on the Newport Water Advisory Board prior to NKWD’s acquisition of the Newport system. Wagner is the owner of Weber Dental Lab located in Fort Thomas. He and his wife, Linda, have four children and currently reside in the city of Newport.

NKWD is governed by a six-member board of commissioners. The commissioners are selected by Judge-executive appointment, pending fiscal court approval. The number of NKWD commissioners appointed by each county is based on county population. Currently there are four NKWD commissioners from Kenton County and two from Campbell County, since Kenton County population outnumbers Campbell County.

Wagner, representing Campbell County, joins five existing Commissioners on the Board.

They are:
Mr. Joe Koester, Kenton County, Chairman of the Board.
Mr. Mike Hemmer, Kenton County, Treasurer of the Board.
Dr. Patricia Sommerkamp, Kenton County, Secretary of the Board.
Mr. Norman Veatch, Campbell County, Board Member.
Mr. Frank Jackson, Kenton County, Board Member.

Northern Kentucky Water District was formed in 1996 when the Campbell County Kentucky Water District and the Kenton County Water District No. I merged. The largest water district in Kentucky, NKWD provides high quality water to more than
65,000 customers in Kenton and Campbell counties.
