| What's in a Membrane?
Membranes and water? What's the connection?
The membrane process is a treatment technique that removes multiple contaminants. This method of treatment is becoming very popular because it drastically reduces the use of chemicals necessary for water treatment. Currently, 220 plants across the nation are using membrane technology and NKWD is evaluating the membrane treatment process as a way to improve water quality in Northern Kentucky. In a recent customer survey, 57 percent of NKWD customers rated "water quality" as most important to them. NKWD is still evaluating all of the criteria to determine if the membranes will be a good fit and work effectively for the District.
