| A subdistrict water main extension is partially paid for by Grant Money, Surcharges and the District's Capital Fund. The surcharge makes up the remaining cost difference between the total construction cost and the grant/District funds received. This is a monthly charge that a customer will receive with their monthly water bill. The monthly surcharge is reviewed at the beginning of each year and may be adjusted depending on how many new customers connected to the subdistrict water main extension in the previous year. How many years the surcharge will be in place depends on each individual subdistrict. |
